Brown Rice Barley Feta Dinner Rolls

This is a great recipe using cooked grains. Brown rice and barley cooked really make a chewy dinner roll that will have your mouth watering for more.

Brown Rice Barley Feta Dinner Rolls

Ingredients
  • 4 cups hot water
  • 2 cups cooked brown rice and barley
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 cups whole grain flour
  • 1 cup feta cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Saf instant yeast
  • High Gluten Bread Flour, King Arthur is great
Instructions
  1. Place water, grains, sugar, oil, salt, cheese, whole grain flour, and 2 cups bread flour in mixer. Place yeast on top and turn on mixer. Mix adding flour until dough just starts to pull away from the sides of the bowl. Knead for 6 minutes. Remove from bowl and form into rolls. Let rise until double. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven, dropping the temp. to 325 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until the inside temp is 180 degrees.
