This is a great refreshing syrup, you can use Xagave instead of sugar and have a wonderfully healthy drink. This can also be bottled for use later in the year.
Recipe:
Add:
1 ½ cup water
2 inches vanilla bean cut up in little pieces
Boil 2 minutes
Add:
2 ½ cups sugar
Rind of two lemons, cut into strips
1/8 teaspoon salt
Boil 5 minutes. Cool and add
Juice of 6 lemons or about 2 cups fresh lemon juice
Strain the syrup and store in covered container. To make, add 2 tablespoons to glass of ice water or soda.
