Yeasted Buttermilk Waffles (Pantry Members)

Ingredients
  • 5 cups flour
  • 1 T. Saf instant yeast
  • 2 T. sugar
  • 4 cups buttermilk
  • 3/4 cups unsalted melted butter
  • 2 t. salt
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 t. baking soda
Instructions
  1. The night before serving, begin the waffle batter. In WonderMix mixer bowl combine yeast, sugar, buttermilk, butter, salt, and flour. Use cookie whip attachment to blend. Mix well. Place cover on WonderMix and place in refrigerator overnight.
  2. Next day when ready to serve, spray waffle iron with nonstick spray and heat up. Beat eggs and baking soda together. Whisk into batter until evenly incorporated. Ladle onto waffle iron.
  3. For a tender waffle, cook on a lower temperature. For a crisp waffle, cook on a higher temperature.
  4. To serve all at once, place cooked waffles in an oven preheated to 250 degrees.
  5. To store waffles, cool on wire rack and place in plastic freezer bags. Freeze up to one month.
