Spelt Savory Cheese & Herb Scone |

- 3 cups spelt flour
- 1 T. baking powder
- 1 T. sugar
- 2 t. salt
- ½ cup finely chopped fresh chives
- 5 oz. grated sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 cups buttermilk + additional
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Add chives and cheddar, tossing to combine. Stir in buttermilk with a fork until a sticky dough forms.
- Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead 8 times with floured hands. Form into a round loaf. Brush top of round with additional buttermilk and cut each into 8 wedges.
- Arrange wedges about ½ inches apart on an ungreased large baking sheet and bake until golden brown, about 20 minutes. Cool on a rack.
